Privacy Notice

The data controller for fungradar.com is the operator named at the end of this notice. Until the operating entity is registered, that field is left visibly blank rather than filled with a plausible-looking name — a notice naming a controller that does not exist would be worse than one that admits the gap.

Our web server records the requests it serves. That log contains your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page, if any. This is the ordinary operation of a web server; without it the service cannot be run or defended against abuse.

The lawful basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the service running and secure. Logs are kept for a short operational period and are not used to build a profile of you, not combined with anything else, and not sold or shared.

This section exists because it is the part most sites get wrong by omission. On this domain there is:

• no analytics beyond a visit counter you can switch off — see the section below; once off, no third-party script is loaded at all;
• no session recording and no heatmaps, whatever you choose — Metrica's Webvisor is switched off in the code for this site, not merely left unticked;
• no advertising, no ad networks, no tracking pixels, no cross-site identifiers;
• no third-party fonts — typefaces are served from this domain, so no request reaches Google or any other font host;
• no third-party map tiles — the map is drawn from our own endpoint;
• no payment processing on this site at present;
• no photo upload on this site at present.

We count visits to these pages with Yandex Metrica, to see which ones earn their place. Counting is on by default, and a notice says so on your first visit. We will not pretend this is consent: it is not. What it is, is disclosure with a working off switch.

If you allow it, Metrica sets its own cookies in your browser and records that a visit happened: the pages opened, roughly where the visit came from geographically, the referring address, the browser and screen size. Session recording — Metrica calls it Webvisor — is switched off in our code for this site regardless of your answer, so no reconstruction of your screen, typing or mouse movement is made or stored.

The operator is Yandex, and the data goes to servers in the Russian Federation — a country without a UK adequacy regulation or an EU adequacy decision. You should know that before deciding, which is why it is written here in plain words rather than buried in a list of processors.

Switching the counting off costs you nothing: every page works identically, and once off, the counter's script is not on the page at all — not suppressed, not present. You can confirm that by viewing the page source, where mc.yandex.ru then does not appear.

Your choice is remembered in your own browser and nowhere else. To change it, use «Change your choice about counting» at the foot of any page; the notice will appear again. Clearing your browser's site data has the same effect.

A few small values are kept by your own browser, on your own device. They are never transmitted to us and never leave the machine you are reading on: your light or dark theme choice, the region you last looked at so the page can open there again, and a flag noting that the map failed to load in this tab so it is not retried repeatedly.

These are not cookies and are not used for tracking. Clearing your browser's site data removes them, and the site works correctly without any of them.

The site does not ask for your device location and does not read it. When you pick a region or a town, that choice is a page you navigated to — it is in the address, like any other page, and it is stored in your own browser so the site can open there next time.

This matters more than it may sound. The whole product is built around not publishing precise foraging locations: the service promises it is not a map of other people's spots, and that promise is kept by not holding those spots in the first place.

The site runs on a server in Germany. The forecast is computed from open meteorological and satellite data, none of which is about you.

Under the GDPR you may request access to personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and request a copy in a portable form. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

In practice, if you have only read this site, the personal data we hold about you is a server log line. We would rather say that plainly than describe a rights process grander than the data behind it.

If the site starts doing something this notice does not describe — taking payments, accepting photographs, or measuring traffic — this document is updated before that happens, not after. The date at the top is the date it last changed.
